The Cromarty Firth is one of the few places in the British Isles inhabited by Porpoise. They can be seen quite regularly swimming close to the shore less than a mile from the Teaninich Distillery. Founded in 1817 in the Ross-shire town of Alness, the distillery is now one of the largest in Scotland.
